Welcome to the Juliann Riggs Photography blog- a journal where my Southern roots are brought to life, and my love for wedding photography meet!
Stay a while, say hello, and let's become friends!!
Hello! I'm Juliann Riggs.
There is nothing more stressful than deciding what to wear for engagement photos!! You have your beautiful new ring and handsome man. You now need to get those perfect pictures to celebrate! Don’t worry; I am sharing some of my best ideas and favorite tips for both girls AND guys!!
I am using Preston and Christol’s engagement session as an example! I send each one of my couples an in-depth style guide, and they followed it perfectly. Also, a little side note about Preston and Christol- they are the sweetest couple, and I can’t wait to capture their wedding day coming up so soon at the beautiful Three Lakes Manor in Poplarville, Mississippi.
The best advice I can give you is to buy a long flowy dress! The camera loves the moment we create with long dresses; they will always look amazing!! They are super flattering for all body types, and you can feel your absolute best while rocking your new dress. If you want a shorter dress, that works too! Pair a statement heel with it to really steal the show. My absolute favorite shops are Red Dress and Baltic Born. As a matter of fact, Amazon has some beautiful dresses too!! Christol’s dress is from there. I may or may not own the same dress, too! I have a clothing problem. Ask my hubby.
I always suggest getting a glam! Treat yourself to getting your nails done as well as your hair and makeup. It’s a fun way to take away the stress of actually having to do your hair and makeup yourself unless you are amazing at it!
Three words for your man: suit and tie! Okay, don’t panic. If your man doesn’t get that fancy, that’s totally okay!! My hubby doesn’t either. You can always go with khaki dress pants and a solid-colored button-up. Never forget about the blazers too!! Just try to go above and beyond rather than not.
If you love the light, airy, bright film style that I shoot and LOVE, I suggest blush, ivory, gray, and pastel colors when picking your outfits out! You always pick your outfit out first, then coordinate your man’s outfit to YOURS.
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!! At the end of the day, it won’t matter what you wear as much as the love you share! Have fun, cherish this time together, and prepare yourself for the greatest journey you’ll ever go on- marriage!!
I love my couples and would love to make you and your man one of them!!! God called me to this life I’m living, and my hope is I can be a light for Jesus. He loves you so much, and so do I!! You can contact me here if you think we would make a great fit.
In the meantime, check out a few of my favorite blogs!
xoxo,
Juliann
