Welcome to the Juliann Riggs Photography blog- a journal where my Southern roots are brought to life, and my love for wedding photography meet!
Stay a while, say hello, and let's become friends!!
Hello! I'm Juliann Riggs.
One of the most amazing parts of my job is seeing how each one of my couples brings their dream day to life. Being able to capture Bryant and Caitlin’s Nottoway Plantation wedding was truly a dream come true. I certainly have the best job in the world!!
When this couple’s wedding day finally arrived, Bryant and Caitlin chose to incorporate small yet important details. Also, they wanted to honor their family legacy throughout the Southern event in White Castle, Louisiana.
Bryant and Caitlin emphasized how important family was to them by choosing their son to be the ring bearer. Their grandfather also played a key role in officiating the wedding! The bride’s mother repurposed her old wedding gown, making it into something new for her daughter to wear in a charming yet delicate getting-ready robe on her wedding day. How special is that! The groom also wore his grandfather’s watch, which was so sentimental to him!
One thing this couple did great (besides looking PERFECT) was their attention to detail! Bryant had sprinkles of duck feathers in his cuff links, bow tie, and even his cake!! Caitlin chose to go with the classic, elegant, straight neck, fit and flare, timeless wedding gown she wore perfectly. Her hairstyle was an up-do, of course, to accentuate the classic Southern bride look!
The couple chose to do minimal decorating because they didn’t want it to take away from the venue itself! With this purpose in mind, Bryant and Caitlin decided to stick to a classic color scheme, with white and green being the primary colors. Their vision was that these colors would make the buildings stand out and all the focus to be on what matters most- their love!
Florals came into play with HUGE focal point vases for the ceremony and my personal FAVORITE… the floral fountain at the reception!!! I am sure I took 1000 photos of it because it was truly that stunning. They didn’t stop there with details for the reception!!! Bryant and Caitlin’s gift to the guest for coming to celebrate with them was a small bottle of sugar cane syrup since the plantation used to be a sugar cane farm! The classy couple had champagne and wine for everyone, complete with an open bar. They thought of every small detail, and everything had a purpose!
Let’s give this sweet couple a huge congratulations on officially becoming Mr. & Mrs. Without a doubt, I know they are going to do AMAZING things in this world. I can’t wait to cheer them on forever!
To top things off, read these kind words they left for me:
“Juliann is so talented and loves what she does! She makes you feel comfortable even while you’re fake laughing, which always turn into a real laugh because you have so much fun shooting with her. She traveled all the way to Baton Rouge twice to shoot my bridals and my wedding and they all turned out amazing!”
If you want photos you will be obsessed with, head over to my process and see what it’s like to work with me. Another option for you is to go straight to my contact form if you know you are ready to save your date!!
All in all this special day wouldn’t have been possible without every one of these vendors making it a day to remember!
